- >>>What *is* UZI (or V7)?
- ><description delsted>
- >Nice, but how about a binary distribution?
-
- There was one a little while ago based on pretty much the same code. It's
- on aminet as aminet/misc/unix/mapux.lha .
-
- >What does it do, what works, which hardware is supported?
-
- It does the UNIX thing, what else? It's a full V7 minus the debugging
- system calls. You get pretty much the same API as MINIX. It would probably
- be easier to find an old book on V7 if you want to know exactly which
- system calls you do and don't get. As for hardware, the binary version
- runs on an '020 machine with 2MB of RAM starting at 0x0 and 1 floppy
- drive. Other than floppy and console no other hardware is supported. Why
- not write your own drivers? The '020 is required by some of my assembly
- code. It shouldn't be too hard to alter for '000. This requires you to
- recompile the MAPUX yourself, of course.
-
- >And: is there some web-page about the project? :)
-
- Haha. No.
-
- Also, to the chap who mailed me asking about cp: sorry I mislaid your
- e-mail. I haven't written or ported cp (use 'cat srcfile >dstfile'?).
- The source uploaded it the same as used for the binary.
